Throughout the last twenty years, NGI has established itself as more than just a big lab in gem testing and research. It earned a distinguished reputation as a dedicated gem research institute actively engaged in groundbreaking research in the gemology. NGI has made significant contributions to the gemological community by publishing numerous papers in esteemed international forums. A selection of these publications is provided below:
- Differences in lattice radiation damage and spectroscopic characterization between natural and artificial green diamonds (published in the Journal of Gems & Gemmology, Issue 5, 2022)
- Differences and spectroscopic characterizations of defect centers of natural and synthetic type Ib~IaA diamonds (presented at AIGS Gem Webinar, July 2020)
- Beryllium-diffused treated sapphire with blue body colour (published in Journal of Gems & Gemmology, No 10(1), 2008)
- Gemological characteristics and diffusion mechanism of diffusion-treated synthetic sapphire (published in Journal of Gems & Gemmology, No 8(3), 2006)
- Lead-rich glass substance in filled treated rubies (published in Journal of Gems & Gemmology, No 7(2), 2005)
- Formation of vortex dendrite crystal on yellow sapphire crystal under hydrothermal condition (published in 29th International Gemological Conference, 2004)
- The sheared mechanism of spiral and vortex dislocation on beryl crystal (published in 29th International Gemological Conference, 2004)
