How to use MANTIS, interpret the results and when to send the stone for Gem Laboratory testing
- Press the power button on to turn on MANTIS,
- Clean the surface of the gemstone with a jewellery cloth or dry tissue
- Perform a test on mounted stone, hold the jewellery with one hand and the tester with the other hand.
- To test loose gemstones, place the gemstone on the metal stone rest and hold it with one hand while holding the tester with the other hand.
- Press and hold On/Off button for 5 seconds on the MANTIS until the IR LED light up
- Perform test on mounted stone . Make sure there is a clear path between IR transmitter and receiver
- Select the color on the BLEU if necessary
- The name of the gemstone will appear on the BLEU Screen
